GENERAL QUESTIONS

I have really sensitive ears. What are your pieces made of?

My team and I have sensitive ears, too! Our goal is to provide high quality, affordable, hypoallergenic options for our sensitive-eared girlies. All materials are listed in each product's item description. We use stainless steel, surgical steel, and implant grade titanium in our earrings. These materials are rust and tarnish proof and won't turn your skin green.

If your ears are extra extra sensitive, I recommend giving our flat back earrings a try! They're made of surgical grade materials. Less than 1% of the population is allergic to true implant grade titanium, which makes it the best metal for sensitive skin.

To learn more about why implant grade titanium is awesome, read this peer-reviewed article: https://www.mdpi.com/2079-6412/12/2/214

Note that our gold titanium flat back studs do have an 18K Gold PVD plating. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Is your jewelry waterproof?

Oh yeah! 99% of our earrings are waterproof. Unless otherwise stated (we have a few hand painted statement earrings), you're getting jewelry that you can get wet.  Here's a more detailed video explanation: Video

My clicker hoop clasp seems to be getting loose. How can I fix that?

It's inevitable. Your favorite pair of hoops won't stay shut anymore. So annoying! Simply put a little pressure on the post part that goes through your ear until it shifts a tiny bit up or down. Keep doing that until it clicks in snugly. Be careful not to press too hard though!  Here's a video explanation: Video

Do you offer discounts?

We are priced very fairly when you look at other brands with our same caliber of quality! We do have a monthly discount and an extra special yearly birthday discount for members of our Cords Club (it's free!).

Do you have a loyalty rewards program?

We do! Earn rewards for such tasks as referring friends to Cords Club, making a purchase, following us on social media, and more! Find out more about our rewards program here.

Did you have rewards points with the old Indiecords site? Fear not! Reach out to hello@cordsclub.com with the details.

Do you offer wholesale?

We have had many inquiries from piercers and others about wholesale. This is in the works, but may not be ready until early 2024. If you would like to be updated on announcements and/or help with beta testing and refining the program, click here to fill out our interest form.

FLAT BACK STUDS

What are your flat back studs made out of?

If your ears are extra extra sensitive, I recommend giving our flat back earrings a try!

Our flat backs are made from either implant grade titanium (the most hypoallergenic metal available) or stainless steel (a close second to the titanium in terms of hypoallergenic quality). Less than 1% of the population is allergic to true implant grade titanium, making it the metal of choice for sensitive ears.

The silver colored flat backs are either one of these metal types, and the gold flat backs are made from one of these metals with high quality, durable gold plating.

Do your flat backs come in pairs?

Our flat back studs are sold individually, so they can be mixed and matched! It's stated in the item description for each flat back earring that when you purchase one, you are purchasing a single flat back stud. You'll need to add two separate studs to your cart in order to get a pair.

What's up with the flat back applicator? How do I use it?

Ok. This tool is freaking amazing! While not required for putting your flat back studs in, the applicator is a GAME CHANGER. Made from implant grade titanium, it's perfect for sensitive ears, just like our flat backs are! Here's a more detailed video explanation: Video

How do I put my flat backs in without an applicator?

Let's be honest. Flat backs are revolutionary, but it takes some practice to get used to putting them in. Here's a video demo: Video

How do I take my flat backs out?

Time to switch it up? No problem! First, with each hand, firmly grip the front and back at the same time. Carefully (the pieces are tiny--don't lose them!) pull apart at the same time. You may need to twist a little bit. Want to see it in real life? Here's a video demo: Video

What length and gauge are your flat backs? Will they fit my ear?

Our flat backs come in the standard 6mm length and are 18 gauge (unless otherwise stated in the description). We do offer a range of post lengths, if you'd like to customize your fit. These are sold separately. More Fit Info Here: Video

What are your shop policies?

You KNOW we have something for this! We design, laser cut, and prep these portable flat back organizers (a.k.a. palettes) in-house! More info here: Video

My flat back stud is loose. What's going on?

Our flat back studs hold together through a tension bond between the pin (front part of the earring) and tube (post or back of the earring). You'll need to adjust and check this tension bond every time you put your earrings on.

Your order should have come with a business card that has a QR code on it. This QR code will take you to a playlist that tells you all you need to know in order to enjoy your new earrings. Here is the link, if you've lost your card: Video

Help! I can't get my flat back earring off. What should I do?

First, don't panic! We got you.

Second, grip each end of the flat back and twist in opposite directions as you pull them apart. For a stronger grip, wear gloves. Of course we have a video to show you this irl: Video

Shipping and Returns

I'm missing a flat back stud in my order. What happened?

Our flat back studs are sold individually, so they can be mixed and matched! It's stated in the item description for each flat back earring that when you purchase one, you are purchasing a single flat back stud. You'll need to add two separate studs to your cart in order to get a pair.

How soon do you ship my order?

As a very small team, we aim to ship orders within a 1-4 of business days. You will receive a tracking number email when we have shipped it!

I think my item is broken. What can I do about it?

Oh no! We're so sorry to hear about this. Reach out to our customer support team (hello@cordsclub.com) with your order number, photos of the damaged piece, and your address. We would love to work with you to come up with a solution!

I accidentally ordered the wrong color. Can I exchange it?

We've all been there! Reach out to our customer support team so we can help you correct this issue. If your order hasn't shipped out, yet, we should be able to fix this ASAP! Include your order number and which item you would like to switch with your support ticket.

If your order has already been shipped to you, send us a support inquiry with your name and order number. You'll need to ship the incorrect piece back once the correct one is received, otherwise you will be billed for both items.

My package was marked as delivered but it's nowhere to be found. How can I get my items?

We understand that it can be frustrating when tracking information shows that your package as delivered but you cannot find it at your home. Unfortunately, this situation happens every once in awhile.

Here are a few things we recommend:

Firstly, we suggest checking with your neighbors or your front desk (if you are staying at an apartment or rental property) to see if they may have received the package on your behalf. Also, please make sure to check all possible delivery locations, such as your porch, garage, or hidden areas.

If you still cannot locate your package, we kindly ask you to contact the mail carrier to verify the delivery address and request more details about the delivery process. In most cases, they can provide additional information such as a picture of the delivery location or confirmation from the driver. Submit a claim through their website with your tracking number.

Sometimes packages can be marked as delivered and then can take up to 7 days to actually arrive.

Unfortunately, as a small business, once packages leave our shipping team's hands, they are at the mercy of the postal system and we aren't able to do anything beyond submitting a claim. Making sure that your first and last name and address are 100% correct will help ensure that your package arrives. We also recommend upgrading and getting shipping insurance whenever you make a purchase, as an additional precaution.
